I am a Woven Designer currently based in Norfolk, UK. I graduated from Norwich University of the Arts in July 2017 with a First Class BA(Hons) in Textile Design. In January 2018 I started my own Woven Design Business to work on products, collections and commissions.
From 2018 to 2021 I joined a studio space in Norfolk at DesignerMakers21, Diss to develop my business designing bespoke handwoven fabrics and a range of home and lifestyle products. My products can currently be found in the shop/galleries of DesignerMakers21.
My woven fabrics are inspired by our surroundings, exploring nature and architecture to inform hand designed details and simple patterns, often creating patterns we can all relate too. Photography and drawing are used to inform the creation of graphic bold motifs which I translate onto the loom and into my woven fabrics.
Colour is an integral part of my designs, bringing colour directly from the inspiration as well as taking judgement on combining colours in the weaving process. I mostly use Cottons and Lambswool within my cloth which I hand-dye to create smooth changes in colour across each fabric.
Care and attention is taken throughout the whole process, from creating the initial warps, weaving the cloth and producing the final pieces to create high quality British made products. I like to spread joy and happiness through the uplifting colours used within my pieces.
Please feel free to get in touch if you are interested in working with me on a design, collection or bespoke product.
